About

Emma Turnbull is a BWY teacher, BWY Foundation Course tutor and also an Ayurvedic Practitioner.

Emma trained with the BWY , attending the Foundation Course and going onto study on the 3 year Diploma course.

Emma developed a special interest in teaching Yoga for Women and has trained with both Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Franscoise Freedman.

Emma had the privilege of completing a Yoga Nidra Teacher’s Training course given by Swami Pragyamurti of the London Satyananda Centre- a teacher who has greatly influenced her teaching and practice.

Emma’s classes combine over a decades experience of teaching yoga with the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda – so that each offering is seasonally appropriate and aimed at balancing the excess of the season, Emma draws on lunar cycles, seasonal cycles and the natural world to inform her practice and teaching, she believes that by combining Yogic and Ayurvedic wisdom, through simple daily practices, life can be lived to the fullest by each of us,

“I strongly believe that it’s the culmination of simple daily practices that makes a difference, and that anybody, at any time has the power to transform their lives using the amazing tools that Yoga and Ayurveda offer – I believe yoga is a lifestyle, a way of being, a gift for all!”

Before dedicating her time to solely Yoga and Ayurveda, Emma had began her healing and spiritual path much earlier when she was led by many synchronicities to learn Reiki in 1998. This opened the doors for so many other opportunities and she went on to learn Reiki 2 and then attend her Reiki masters course with William Lee Rand at Stonehenge in 1998, a powerful spiritual and healing experience. Emma went on to study and practice Reflexology, Indian head massage, NFSH healing, and also works with crystals, flower remedies and essential oils.

As a mother of three, Emma enjoyed practicing yoga with her children so it felt natural to teach yoga to children too and begun teaching Yogabugs in 2004.

Emma classes herself as an eternal student and constantly stays updated in her practice and studies, along with many yoga weekends, IST days, workshops, classes, ashram visits and symposiums her formal qualifications are as follows:
